it will be a sad day when I finally give up the 1.3 megapixel camera phone. the day is coming in the next few days so unless something crazy happens i'll be using a blackberry (not much better quality...) so i'll be a little sad. there is nothing like the 1.3 mp. it takes a little talent to use the worst camera left on earth.

I took this last night at the hollywood bowl - where I was witness to the best concert I've seen in probally 20 years buddy. yeah I just said 20 years. no i'm not "techno" as my sister calls me, i've always liked the big names in electronic music - but the Chemical Brothers are by far the best at what they do. i was a little bummed they didn't play a few of my favorites, but only slightly because I had the realization that those songs never would have worked. Hey Boy, Hey Girl had a creepy clown in the middle of song during the light show that freaked out Suitcase Sally. we danced, shared champagne... ate korean food and wowed at the atmosphere. GREAT SHoW.

Yeah, so I got married last week and having just got back from a pre-honeymoon getaway, I thought I would do this in reverse and show some of the pics from the trip. Most are scenic in nature, but fear not, more will be on the way when I receive them. Meanwhile, enjoy the scenery, all of which were taken at the Krishnamurti Foundation's center in Ojai, CA. Yeah, it was so peaceful to hear the sounds of only 4 planes flying over head in four days. We did some amazing star gazing, watched a satellite do some pretty fancy maneuvers, picked oranges and avocados, went hiking, stayed in the Igor Stravinsky suite where I did some far out writing and we read from some of the fantastic books the room came equipped with while we pondered a greater escape. It was simply awesome. Stay tuned as more pics are revealed.

When I say there was great reading, I did not lie, but this was only in the main lobby. The individual rooms have a far more diverse selection. In fact the only Krishnamurti reading was done on the first day we were there.

Today you are going to read a shitload of articles full of mistakes. Most, if not all of them will be poorly written, confusing, and laced with bias. If you want to read anything that HEARTILY out-facts, out-thinks and outshines anything Bugliosi ever printed about Leslie Van Houten - stay away from the mainstream news, and search for those underground bloggers and other various alternatives to your normal news to find anything other than "bitch must die" bullshit that won't get you anything worthwhile. I had to quit reading a few different articles, one of which I couldn't get more than about 1/3 of the way down. You'd think 40+ years after the fact, writers would have the wit to create a piece worthy of reading all the way through... just not sure what the heck these fools are doing -- is .0095 cents per click really worth writing complete bullshit articles?

Fat old crime writers sit in their withered black fake-leather desk chair and clank their way to yet another failed attempt to create a name or buzz or whatever sorta viral bug they think they can achieve. Can't all these fat asses just get the hell lost? Leave! Enjoy retirement. The attempt to gain a legion of people behind you must be like a really bad day hunting or fishing. You just came home with half a squirrel or a bucket of guppies.

Meanwhile, take a seat and read part 1 - part 5 of John Water's account of the friendship he built up with with Leslie. The long-term implications being of extreme importance, particularly on a day like today.

It's the best piece of an example of how the system could use a jolt of positivity. The whole country could use it, and today that can be provided in the form of a shared belief that maybe, in this account, at very least, this could be a day when the public can view how a system can rehabilitate. Will Former Chess Player Sign with the Clippers?

Sofoklis Schortsanitis is a Greek professional basketball player the Los Angeles Clippers drafted way back in 2003. The team offered him a contract in 2006, but Schortsanitis was still under contract with Olympiacos so, at the time, the deal was declined.
However, new reports coming from the Greek press reveal that Schortsanitis has begun looking for a home in California, with possible sights on playing for the Clippers.
As you may recall, Greece polished off the USA team in 2006 on their way to a silver in the FIBA World Championships in Japan.
The 6'10" center was born to a Greek father and a Cameroonian mother, has a popular fan-site (in Greek) and goes by a couple different nicknames - Baby Shaq and Big Sofo.

According to a post at The Hoop, Schortsanitis is already headed to L.A., which could mean that discussions with Olympiacos had setbacks, leaving Sofo with an opportunity to give the NBA a shot.
The Clippers select 8th in this years draft, and a surprise signing of the 25 year old would certainly have an impact on the team's selection process.

It is very large. As I said, it has modifications to prevent escape. The entire top perimeter of the crib has been reinforced with a metal frame that is connected to a car battery. When someone tries to escape the crib, they will be given a gentile electric shock, which will discourage them from attempting to climb out of the crib again. The price includes a 12 volt car battery, but a higher-voltage battery can always be purchased, depending on how fat your child is. Here is a picture of the setup:

I am currently using the crib for one of my friends who happens to be a midget. He tends to frequently get drunk and violent, so we put him in this crib when he starts getting belligerent. The battery works great for keeping him in, so I am assuming it will work great for your child. The only reason I am getting rid of it is because the midget was recently arrested for arson, so he won't be around for a while.

I have something else that you may be interested in as well. Are you tired of waking up in the middle of the night to the sound of your baby crying? With this clever device, you won't even have to get out of bed to calm your baby.

It is a little mobile that I invented called "The Lullibinator." Simply hang it above the crib, and the microphone will detect when the baby is crying. If the crying reaches a certain decibel level, the box will spray a calming mist of pepper spray into the crib. It trains your baby not to cry in no time! It worked great on the midget when he started yelling. It comes with 2% CS pepper spray, which is practically harmless. It can be upgraded to bear mace if your child continues to cry. I have decorated the Lullibinator with friendly smiley faces to comfort your baby.

2010 Most Underrated MLB Team - Detroit Tigers

Those sounds in the stands is not from the fans over there at ... uhmm... Comerica Park don't sound too great yet. But as the season wears on, my 2010 prediction for success in major league baseball is the Detroit Tigers. This is a mere "the city needs it" speech, or thoughtless wanna-be sports pinger hype. By the way, come on, Comerica Park? Give me a fucking break. Tiger Stadium MUST be revived, but this is a different topic that won't get fixed this season, but they will soon be sorry, I have a feeling.

The Tigers made some moves that are going to pay off big. Currently, I believe they have a potentially fantastic top half of a pitching rotation that can match any other team's 1-2. Verlander and Bonderman are two absolute winners. Aces. Verlander had a miserable start to his sophomore season in 2009, but finally gained steam during the 2nd half. Even through his inconsistencies last year, there were a few gems that showed signs of life.

The Tigers could really luck out if Dontrelle Willis finds his groove and stays healthy. He is in his 3rd season in Motown and has yet to start his 20th game. This season so far he is 0-1 in three starts, but if his spring training was any indication, Dontrelle can be a force.

Jose Valverde was the prize off-season acquisition who adds consistency to the bullpen. Any time a team makes an impact move like this, you know they have playoffs on the mind.

On that same wavelength, adding veteran Johnny Damon to the lineup provides more consistency and invaluable experience. Damon is a stellar player year in and year out - no lineup falls apart when Damon is there every day. Even with KC in the late 90s, Damon helped keep that team somewhat in contention. When he got traded in 2000 after collecting 214 hits that season, he did have a quiet season Oakland, but they still went on to win 102 games (and then lost to the Yankees). Boston and NY (speaking of the devil) were both dominating teams with Johnny, so yeah, he's a winner.

Is Austin Jackson really as good as what "they" say? Well, he's had a hit in all but two of the Tigers first 15 games.

The middle of their lineup includes Mags, a career .312 hitter and Cabrera, another career .312 talent.

This was a recap of the good - they do have voids to fill (Polanco at 2nd is gone) and question marks to answer to, but Detroit has it going on this year, and you heard it here at Daily Mael.

Sunday Update

I woke up and the sky is filled with a soupy fog that most likely will fade and be gone by the time I go out for some golf (tee time is at 3:30) and when I say "some" golf I only mean 9 holes. I have over-extended my weekend - which is to say, my sister came over and forced me to throw out all the shit I don't need any more. Suitcase Sally followed suit. And now despite having a place that weighs a little less, it appears as if lava just rolled through the living room area. It's not pretty.

I've turned the corner and I'm sprinting toward the finish line with the Master's degree. It's nice to have a little direction - but I'm so tired by the end of the week, most of the time, I just look back and think about the writing chances I missed out on.

Mmmm... the smell of turkey bacon has just infiltrated my nostrils. Someone is up to something no good and I must see if there is any coffee left over.

Got 20 Bucks?

I had to defend this guy today; a big guy who must have weighed about 300 lbs. Bless him for getting his fat ass on the court, but when he turned to me and said "I got 20 on you" I almost snapped. I kept bouncing out of the key trying to get open, I waved to my teammates because it would just take a snap to get around him, but I only kept thinking "does this fool really think he's got "20" on me, or should I have rectified the point right then and there to make sure?"

Since there were three idiots trying to run the squad, I couldn't get the ball and trample on his ass, but this guy was far more than 20 bucks more than I carry - and hell - they beat us (they cheated, no really they cheated bad).

All in all, I have to say it really didn't make a difference, I was done by that point - 4 games, a throbbing knee and work to finish at home left me less than interested in revenge at that moment.

The best news of today folks must be the New Dell I purchased! That's right - I've been working on the same machine for 6 years, and at the time, I purchased it from a gal off Craigslist for 50 bucks. While it has been damn good to me, and got me through thousands of essays, articles, posts and other random computer world stuff - it was certainly time to pass along to my mom, who has never really had a computer to call her own. Now she will. ALSO, I purchased the phattest non-touchscreen monitor around today. It's awesome and when it arrives, I think things are going to change for me and the world of blogging for the better. For one, I'll be able to multi-task - something my current machine apparently can't help me with any more. Time to go ya think? And so it sits, the machine is on the floor panting for attention I won't give it until the monitor arrives. With that pretty graphics card ready for a spin or two around the block, I'm slobbering on myself.

Apology is Due - Sorry Herndon!

Yes, I was a hater during the winter months... A guy we'll just call JF runs the finest NCAA tourney ever and after three years of losing, I was a total sleeve wagon. I went on his blizz-og and trash talked his pool calling it "a scam", though I was joking. Of course, with fighting words like that, it's hard to convey silliness, in fact, his tourney is downright awesome, but I did the talking and I don't think it went over too well.

Until today, when Duke - a loathsome team that everybody loves to hate, won the NCAA tournament, securing me with a 6th place finish.

Before you go ... big whoop... you should know there were about 1,200 entrants or something silly. The first 10 entries land "in the units" and I will be getting a bunch of units in the mail sometime soon! Apparently my bank accepts these units and transfers them into tokens or widgets.

So, yeah, I feel like an ass. My comments were even wiped off his blog, so I know this didn't go over very well - the only way I can apologize is by taking those units and buying something fun for the home.

JF is awesome, and tonight he made me a winner.

Oh and if you are wondering about my left hand, it magically grew back after April 1st.

I lost my arm in a skiing accident recently

Unfortunately, I'm only able to type with my right hand now.

Yes, I'm still able to masturbate, thank you for asking. But life with only one arm really is different. I was given a special keyboard by my sister and my mom sent me a loads of cool things designed to help me feel as if I had two arms like I used to... like nothing ever happened...

There are two more surgeries in order to re-shape and approximate what is left of my left arm.

But I can't really put in words what it means to have lost my left hand, my dominant hand, on the slopes of Solitude, Utah. For me, the worst thing was flying home, thinking of all my life with both arms fully functioning. I felt feelings of shame, embarrassment, I felt ugly and neutered.

The accident happened so fast, like a bolt of lightening, and I don't remember much except thinking "this is really, really bad" before dumping my head in the powder. When my eyes opened, my parents and girlfriend were standing there - looking dazed, and I knew, without looking, instantly what had occurred during the previous few hours. The only thing I didn't know at the time was that I had been somehow transported to a hospital in Denver, Co. Apparently there was a doctor there who happened to be willing to work on me that weekend, but if you asked me, I'd probably say anyone with the proper pain killers may have been able to do the work... Anyway, after a couple days of sitting there, it was time to head out, and since I needed a little time to myself, I decided I'd get to the airport by myself and meet up with everyone at the hANGER.

On the cab ride to the airport, I was fixated on Sammy the Cabby's stories of life as a fare worker. He told of the story of one guy who flagged him down, one summer night in the early 90s in Hollywood, and requested to be driven to Arizona and be shuttled around the next day. "When he asked me if I'd do it, I said 'we all have a price', and so it was on, Joey."

"How much did you make, Sammy?"

"Ohh, about $2,000 for the two days, and I got a free stay at a 5-star, ate some good food and watched him finger a model in the backseat, which was interesting enough to tell my boss I'd be gone a couple days, despite his demands that I bring his car back immediately. See, I own this car now. That weekend, that customer taught me how to do my job the right way and I've never looked back."

I tipped him from my right rear pocket straight to his hand and headed into the Denver airport - a masonic dungeon filled with images that scared the hell out of me; it's a place I'd describe as a morbid combination of the animated love that was Disney and everything that was demonic about Hitler or that horrific Denver school catastrophe... I hustled to my plane and got there 30 minutes early, meeting up with everyone there, waiting with balloons and other shit I didn't want.

But I sat next to a Morman woman on the flight, and this woman was special in many ways. She told me about her sons - she told me I resembled one of her sons, and I felt a warmth. Her energy was unlike most other Mormons I've sat next to on other flights, and she gave me some really interesting recipes to try once I was comfortable in the kitchen.

It's pretty funny, looking back, how for all those years I would take so much pride in being a "lefty". I was an awesome stickball pitcher because none of my other stickball playing friends were leftys, so I confused them. I remember one time going into a "Lefthanders Only" store and bought a binder that had the spiral threading spun through the opposite side of the book so it wouldn't interfere with my writing style. Being a southpaw was always something a little bit different. How many times have I told people "we're the only ones in our right mind"?

I took online tests and surveys, Steve "Lefty" Carlton is my favorite pitcher of all-time, I sat on the left side of any righty while sitting in a booth at a restaurant, to avoid elbow collisions.

Re-adjustment? Shit. This is how life has always been, I'll just have to work extra hard now for that voice-activated technology everywhere in the house.

Damn: Corey Haim is dead

TMZ, once again, has broken the story. This time Corey Haim is dead.

He was found in the valley, dead of a drug overdose.... that is some sad stuff...

The reason it is so sad for me is that we grew up in the same neighborhood, and he and the other Corey (Feldman) were like buddies to me in a way. I have a best friend and we've been compared because of how we worked well together the way these two did.

That was the 80s, and when in recent times, it became clear Corey came under the influence of heavy drug addiction that was sad enough. But that he had to make a Hollywood comeback was just useless.

When the Two Coreys show came out, it was a time bomb, and it was clear this was not going to be a pretty ending. They couldn't work together anymore and now, at 38, Corey Haim is dead.

OK I had to work today just like every hone else and no I"m not going to corre3ct anymore mistakes because I'm drunk - except on the occasions where I go into auto-pilot and fix what doesn't look right,. I'd do more but I'm crunk diddy.

Don't ervin magic johnson know what I'm typing. But it's past midnight and just for you out there who wannna know what I did for my birthday eve celebrration - I sat in the 5th row of a good section at Staples Center and it was, in the end, only to watch the lowly Clips get torn shredded bed bath and beyond style and grace by the pathetic Oklahoma Thunder. Yes they have Durant and that is pretty good, but before this season I remember specifically if I see this team lose to OK I'd scream bloody murder and so here goes.

Buzzcocks just played and so I feel great.

It's actually 2:25am and it seems that I went through an evolutionary process tonight just to get to the bday moment. Of course that took a heavy load of bloating beer, rum n cokes and chicken strips and a realllllly sucky Clipper blowout.

Then we went to a couple of westside bars, made some interesting chat and smoked some interesting herbs that made everything really funny and animated. . .

And when that faded I started thinking about stuff I needed to due Monday and so I drank more and felt much better thank you.

And this week is my highest of holy weeks. I do the opposite of lent. I do the opposite to fasting. I laugh at people. I get in trouble at work. I play lots of basketball, go to Clippers games and I let my bedroom get messy.

Real messy.

It's my week of narcissi.

I plan trips and go on them. I have a great travel record in March. In 2002 I went to South Korea and spent a year working and traveling around Asia. 9 of the past 12 years I've gone to Vegas for March Madness. I've gone to Portland, Idaho, Washington, New York and this year, if things work out, Texas, for South by Southwest - ALL IN MARCH. I've gambled, attended bachelor parties and weddings. March gives me spring. I accidentally misplace my watch every February, and find it on April fools day.

I'm also a notorious March blogger. Some of my favorite posts have been conceived in March...

It's not a bad thing to let it out, I'm something of a public servant 51 weeks a year, but it is definitely not much of a factor during this week. It's a good thing that with all the bad things that happen around me and you, just remember the first week of March, every year, is the week you can be sure someone has something to smile about.

Birthday Week Begins

Then again I haven't been blogging much because of other time consuming things such as:

1. Perfecting ground turkey meals.
2. Deciding if it's time to officially move up in pant size, or keep things "snug" as a reminder to work out more.
3. Figuring out wtf happened to dailymael.com
4. Finding the perfect rawhide for the dog (not too big, not too tough, nothing I can smell)
5. Wondering if I should ever clean my keyboard or see just how much gunk I can accumulate on its keys during its life-time.
6. Noting my car's MPG to the exact 1/10th of a mile
7. Figuring out why Jerry Brown gets panned by seemingly everyone I talk to - yet still has a major advantage in becoming CA's next Governor.
8. Will Hurt Locker win best movie despite having a stupid ass headcase of a producer who'd write the board pleading his case why his movie should win? I wonder.
9. Vegas, Tahoe, Vegas again, Texas and/or Idaho? Or all four trips?
10. Flying Dog double pale ale or Dutch beer?

Big Hollywood? Yep, Zig has lost it

Are you kidding me? I hadn't done a Zig search in a long time, but little did I know a simple search would have led me to his Breitbart gig.

Yeah, the same gig where Riley Hunter was working. Wisely, Hunter has been absent (or changed his clothes to escape possible discovery) at this point, he doesn't want to be found from folks hanging out at his practice fields. Even in his absence, I have to say HR's work is better than the odd John Ziegler:

In 2008, John Ziegler wrote, directed, and produced the documentary "Blocking the Path to 9/11." He created HowObamaGotElected.com as a precursor to his next film, "Media Malpractice... How Obama Got Elected.” A teaser video for that documentary has already been viewed by at least 1.8 million people on YouTube.

I guess he got a job at 1260am here in LA but I don't see him on their website. What does he bring to Breitbart? Sarah Palin articles that harness 300 comments + per and a Rush Limbaugh rant urging people to believe that Rush's lack of brawl in getting rejected bidding to become an NFL owner. Zig is a bizarre story, with big highs - such as his obsessions with Tiger and OJ - and low, lows such as the movies he produces, writes, directs, ADs, grips, edits, narrates and farts on.

Hit n miss, just like Andrew Breitbart.

I don't know, man. I'm let down. It's so terribly difficult to maintain enthusiasm for an entire season of fantasy basketball. 82 games is a lifetime. I'm at the top of the heap in all 3 leagues and it's still a drag.

But, as desperately I try my best to set my teams and face the long haul, I know there are more difficult things out there in the world. Like why the hell am I awake at - wow, now it's 4:10 and I haven't really written anything worthwhile...

So nevermind. Hope your weekend dominates and leave a comment next time you stop by.

You know, on second thought, I decided to ramp up - mainly because it's now the 4:20 that I'm usually asleep during. So as I sit here, I'm just going to drop a couple thoughts on what I've seen in the past coupla days.

The Hurt Locker - or as my neighbor labeled the dvd - The Hard Locker (not on purpose), was phenomenal. I wanted to watch it twice but finally decided that once was enough. Thing was - the story is not phenomenal, the characters are playing roles of parts already done a zillion times and the lead wasn't as strong as his nomination for an academy award suggests.

Instead we just have a movie that by today's standards is a true winner. It was beautifully shot, visually exciting with intense scenes that are nerve racking, intelligent and worth the time. I philosophized with others that Three Kings was 10x a better film. Of course that had to do with the top 3 performers offering up career topping performances (ok - Ice Cube may have been a little better in Friday, but that is only a maybe) but it's difficult comparing those two.

THL makes the audience think, and there is some complexities in the characters, but not enough to make it very memorable outside of movies released in the past five years.

Joseph Stack - homey, what did you do? Oh yeah, he flew his plane into a taxman building. Slate broke it down pretty good, this guy was a narcissist 100% and actually makes a good point for Alex Jones, who calls Stack a plant for the NWO. Not much has changed with that gravelly man's echo, but he actually will end up hurting the End The Fed people because his rant was a mess and it was clear to me he partially moved to Austin for it's music scene that he desperately wanted to be a part of. At first his efforts seemed to have substance, but his pundit pannings have done his case no good for a good reason. Psychopathic and narcissistic, and ultimately mentally unstable will mark his legacy.

Finally - Tiger. Tiger. Seriously - it's lame, man. Stop. The grand day will be the day Nike drops him because nobody should wear Nike because of a golfer. Period. His speech was sponsored by Nike. I've been a reader of Tigerwoodsisgod for many years. After the debacle, the site was changed by its writer John Ziegler, TigerwoodsWASgod. The fact that I'm linking that site is absurd of course. The writer is a former radio talk show host who has fallen, much like Tiger, from the public eye. I used to write during his show back when he was on KFI, but I always thought his show was doomed and his career in radio was making its last stop here in L.A. Zig also is picky with his comments, choosing to not allow any because he's afraid of the comments to take the site over. Who is worse? Tiger or Zig? They are the same beast.

Corrupted from the inside out, except that Tiger is world famous of course.

Back to Tiger - I have to agree with those bloggers who feel saddened that he didn't ~~thank~~ apologize to all the women he hurt along the way, instead, he stayed true to corporate form and lied his fucking ass off. People like Zig thought he did the best he could in the situation he faces, and yea, I mean after all - he's a ball player. He knows this will be but a blip on his radar. He will be at this a very long time and he will be a winner for a long time to go - but I was never a fan. Amazed? Sure, the way I'm amazed at Kobe Bryant. Talented at what they do and nobody can and ever will take that away from them. Certainly not by the women they penetrate. It sure helps my overall portrait of society, and all of civilization for that matter.

Ok, I feel better now. Time for sleep.

Yeah! There we go.... got not one but TWO job offers this week. The best part is I can accept them both! The nature of my work allows me that opportunity. Beats where I'm at now, and I'm, once again, a contractor and that my friends, is HOW THIS DOG ROLLS (and the picture is my dog Teddy Belle)!

wHo wants a beer? This def. beats playing too many video games and praying for something better.

Nice weekend, even got to see my boy Chris Kaman play the All-Star game. He totally deserved it...

Now is everything great? Well, I am busy with the grad-school thing so that kinda sucks and limits me from going after the big bucks for now, but let us take a second and breath cuz it's all going to get better, right? One step at a time, as the former drunks usually will tell you.

Then the roster winds me up but good - a possible trip to Tahoe, then Vegas and Texas! Wow, mmmMarch is going to be a rapid fire endless succession of headaches and do it all over agains.

Still working on a way to pull all the writing together - it's tedious and with the papers I'm writing for school it ain't happening today.

It's very exciting to see some of you Broo's to join me here, I want to tell you about a radio show I'm doing and I want you involved any time you'd like. Inquire within - it's stupid and amatuer, to an extent, but eventually I'll add some of the podcasts here when I do a good show. Then I'll be bugging your asses to call in and have some fun, anonymously or not - it's getting a lot of hits and would be a fun way to promote your articles or - as some of you fancy folks have achieved - will allow you to promote your book(s).

Ah, I can breath again! Clippers finally chop blocked Mike Dunleavy from any more coaching duties effective NOW.

I was just about to give up on this season, despite having the worst job in sports - covering the LA Clippers.

Renewed vigor is seeping out, but the high expectations are gone. There's time for a playoff run, but honestly, this team may need a little more time to get their shit together.

And the hunt for a template begins

I'm picky and I like to tinker, so I want a good template. This blog got blown up last year because I had it hosted at a site called BlueHost. Well, I didn't realize it when I put out the dough to have the site's template built especially for me and then paid for it to be hosted for the year. I must have been rolling in it or so I thought...

Then the economy made blogging more difficult. It made a lot of good, weathered bloggers to quit doin' it cuz dey love it, and if you were a payin' fool like me to do it, then it was really a mistake.

So yeah, the economy is a factor, but not when I started the gdamn thing in 2008.

Then a bunch of other shit happened that took away my attention. I skipped a bunch of things there, each factor is a blog post in itself, so just roll with me for a moment. This rant won't take much time.

The worst thing about 2009 was my editorial debut for a start-up. My initial goal was to become the sorcerer of UFOlogists, and I got the site where I was doing my thing over 10,000 visitors in a quick 9 months. Things were seeming to click, even though I had plans to keep Daily Mael (the .com version) rolling, but it became cumbersome. Like that song, Cumbersome. DM had become. Cum um ber su ummm.

Then in a semi-expected move - I got fucked over by the webmaster where I was editing. Yes, after meeting some of the UFO world's premier researchers and freaks! I was getting newly published books sent to me weekly (still get some) because they wanted to be reviewed and added to that site. I went to paranormal conventions, spread cards and flyers around, was interviewed on an paranormal internet radio show and even met a darling lady writer who got me into a great concert, with backstage access. 2009 was awesome for writing dreams, until dark December fell upon us.

It was then that the webmaster emailed the editors one day announced the site was collapsing. The scramble to go in and grab the 100s of articles and 1,000s of links was daunting and proved impossible due to said economic disaster and mad dashing for cash. A few days later, all my work was gone. Disappeared.... I felt like I had been raped, and I didn't even get a tip on the pillow.

And so there I sat... the other day... staring at my computer. Lost. The feeling of wondering what hit me, and the question of what had been missing. A full year of work was lost, but then I found there were others with little secret missions popping up around the hood and things were good again because I was sorta able to grab a bunch of past DM posts and export them here to this very blog!

The images all got stuck somewhere, so that part sucks. There were a lot of original photos on the old version, but now I'll get an opportunity to revisit those memories without repetition to unknowing readers.

DM was just going to be a bunch of links and articles from internets "dailies", but this NEEDS to be a blog. This must have some of that inner energy.

Meanwhile, I'm looking to revamp the wonderful template to something that may not be as catchy as the one I had, but it can certainly will have the links to the other projects I have going on in interweb land.

The trick is to always be as ass-broke as possible so people leave you alone. How many years have I used that old handy tool?

Well, now that I'm doing a bike ride to Santa Barbara for the MS Society, I find myself in the position of asking all my friends and even sorta-friends, and former/current work mates for donating to the ride that happens Oct. 3 and 4. Well - people remember! Luckily, I wasn't a complete meiser so I'm still getting sort-a hooked up. Which gives me hope.

The problem I now face is that everyone else is raising money this week and next!

Shit! Even my favorite radio program is asking to ante up - - and who can resist a new KXLU t-shirt?

I sure as hell can't! Pledge KXLU - their programming is the best in L.A.!!

I'm hearing all these gruesome stories on the news, I am reading all these books about people gone mad in one form or another - you know, nonfiction stuff - and sitting here wondering about why it is these stories are so important. They deny any wrongdoing, they inflict their ideals on others, and they don't die easy because in each of their minds, they are all doing the "right thing."

It can get so discouraging! The worst eventually die or get caught anyway, so it is easy to just flip open the book and learn about the history of the presenting problem and dig in. I've had these interests since I was very young and it carried on through the several years and I would like to think that when I do get in the right conversation I will be able to have the kind of information output I have studied hard for all of these years. Not to unleash a demon or anything weird, but I have this notion the best has not yet risen to the top.

I bring this up because a site I have been working on as an editor, Ufo DailySite, has put me in contact with some of the more unusual, interesting people on Earth. So to mix it up and stay interested in writing, I keep this site going in hopes to come across some SEO breakthroughs and position the site as one of the greatest resources on the topic in the universe! Not possible? Well, there's a lot of competition out there, but it does keep my imagination ticking and has more of a shelf-life than a blog.

Jesus... this is insane. Why do I have to wake up and hear sad stories like this? Permanent damage to the poor 29 year old girl is screwed for her psychological life and this mutt, who apparently was attempting to preach listening to voices, is going to prison. He was free from a serious crime in 1971, Phillip Garrido, blogger, printer, and creep has created a nasty horrible monsterous scenario.

It could have been unraveled, but the failure of the state, again, by the Federal supervision has been a massive letdown.

It then hovered silently above a nearby apartment building. They described it as a domed saucer with a transparent dome. Inside the clear dome two humanoid figures could be seen. This was my interpretation of the question, though the original question of worded much differently.

So here is my response, feel free to dispute or just leave your own. I don't get enough comments on this blog, so take a minute, it won't bite you.

I would have Obama (all politicians) give the people full transparency of what exactly happens with the most advanced technologies and programs on Earth. I would want all the laws open for a real discussion.

I would want to know the highest-most in Worldly knowledge and secrets, and be part of the team that is responsible for climbing to the top of a very large mountain, with a very large amplifier system and golden microphone. We would, one by one, categorically read each and every meaningful, and meaningless (depending on your spot on the spectrum) point.

After a mini-vacation, the thing I love to come back to is good news.

A couple articles I wrote at Examiner took off, I got another "A" in my last class, the Clippers are involved in some major re-workings yet retain their "modest expectations" status, and the best of all news from my inbox - - I am going to be interviewed Tuesday morning live on a syndicated radio show called the Power Hour.

The show is not produced in a major market, but their message is a growing strain in a struggling American theology:

Mark Sanford. This guy. Jesus... I have to go with my first instinct (later strengthened by the great Phil Hendrie) about how a story this shameful, this nasty (particularly for his family), this bizzaro, could come to pass. Yes, I've pondered it all day. And now I am getting tired. While pondering the scene, these wonderful thoughts came to my mind as I drifted off into a deep sleep:

The weirdness and high strangeness of his actions this past week.
The deep hypocrisy.
Argentina.
His white-bread, creepy demeanor.
That INSANE press conference that took him 7 minutes to get to why there was even a press conference being held.

There really is only one logical monster of a factor left to be discovered-- wait for it...

Many of my past hunches have been dead on, of course some wrong, I make them every day and I'll never quit. Let us hope we find out the truth by an anonymous tipster the way those "sexy" texts were revealed.

I was just happening to be listening to the news and heard this ...

WASHINGTON - Metro confirms two trains have collided on the Red Line between the Takoma and Fort Totten stations. It happened close to the Fort Totten station, a Metro spokesperson said.

David Carradine Death a Mystery in the Making

Growing up in LA, one has his or her share of run-ins with celebs. Particularly in the San Fernando Valley, where I bumped into many a star throughout my life. I sat next to Sinbad when the movie theaters opened at the Fallbrook Mall. That came years after seeing Tom Cruise in his fat-lazy phase somewhere in Sherman Oaks in the mid-80s. I've seen every star from the 80's version of The Young and the Restless, more than once. Don't ask me how I know how to recognize everyone from that cast, just know I've seen them all.

But it was those several times at Coffee Junction in Tarzana where David Carradine would get his coffee and buy random things from their mini-store that made them a little unique from most of the other coffee shop$ in the area. One day, he even asked me if I liked the soap he was purchasing for someone. "Yeah..." was all I could muster. My dad even saw him play in a band called "Soul Dogs", which comprise of various players including Sharon, who ran CJ.

It seems unlikely he would have been the type to kill himself, as initial reports have been suggesting.

UPDATE: TMZ has learned that the day before he died, David Carradine was in good spirits while shooting scenes for a movie at a local eatery -- the Witch's Oyster Bar & Restaurant.

We're told Carradine's crew was posted up on the second floor -- but David would occasionally stroll down to the restaurant level to enjoy a non-alcoholic beverage. Sources inside the restaurant tell us "he didn't look sad ... he looked fine."

Further, it seems unlikely he died of "natural causes" as his agent is said to have reported in other sources.

This is a full-blown mystery, as of right now. There is little chance he died by hanging himself from hotel curtains. This story stinks.

High Noon for Los Angeles City Council

Damning news comes from the San Francisco Weekly about the pot situation in Los Angeles. A 2007 suspension on medical ganja outfits was set aside for more important issues, and as a result of the exponential growth in demand, there are now over 600 dispensaries in operations. That is up from 186 dispensaries in operation when the moratorium was passed in Los Angeles.

Since word got out to the sniveling antis the City Council has been scrambling to avoid looking dumb for doing what the opposite is of acting by claiming the moratorium was merely a strategy to buy more time as new L.A. medical marijuana regulations come into play.

Meanwhile, over in the U.K., the Guardian has taken pot-shots:

"In short, government incompetence will make your kid high, if your kid can fake a nerve damage injury."

Stewart Richlin, an attorney representing over 100 medical marijuana dispensaries, stated in defense of the Council’s lack of action:

"There is a thing called supply and demand, and we aren't in need of paternalistic government.”

The new regulations, after a year of reworking, remain unfinished business. For now, the best patients can hope for is for Los Angeles’ City Council to get off their collective ass and do the right thing.

My Idea for GM

First off, I have hated GM since my early 20s. Let us just say, a long long time. The reason being that my first credit card was provided to me by GM my first week of college. I had a $5,000 credit limit, and I used it to purchase all the necessary equipment: Ridiculous post-80s clothes (linen pants and stretchy button-ups and a pair of J Crew saddle-shoes), beer, a fun 21st birthday celebration, and possibly, a book.

By the time a settlement was reached, the nearly $3,000 I had accumulated towards the purchase of a Corvette was redacted, that is, placed somewhere too high for me to reach, and my only dream of ever purchasing an American-made car quickly became personal history.

But rather than be bitter, keep your dumb GM bucks, jerks. Instead, I recommend something for GM's resurrection. Produce a car that is smaller than a SMART car, but larger than the bowl I sipped my miso soup from last night. Just large enough to squeeze two fatsos in, some groceries (not a day at Costco), a basketball and high-tops. It runs 24 hours, or 600 miles (any type of driving), goes 5 miles over the recommended speed limit, plugs into a usb port, and comes with stainless, odorless door grease. Think awesome, street legal golf cart.

Cost: $999

They would be worth 80 billion in less than 4 years, erasing their debt from the past 5 years of normal operation.

I would not have known that if I had not quickly turned on a t.v. at 1pm today and caught the channel 5 news@1. The anchor mentioned the flight would be between 1-2pm today because the B-17s are pretty noisy, and they knew they'd probably get a million phone calls if they didn't report it. The reason I'm even posting today is because of the email I got today ( dailymael@gmail.com ) that included the "racy" photos of Ms. California, a pot-recipe for my favorite Indian dish (not naan, which is a close-second) and mentioned that sometime-reader Bill Friday has a new website. Eeek! A mouse! So I checked it out.

Certainly there has been a feeling in the air of recent. That is to say, I completely felt my online world screeching to a slow-simmer, just like the biryani last night. Minus the lemon-juice. Just temporary, because, as I always like to announce on days like these, you know, when clarity comes at a premium, my writing always bounces back strong. I'm predicting a Laker loss in game 6, fyi. I'm not being a hatre, in fact I would love to see the Fakeshow play Denver.

Wow, what a peculiar place I find myself this year in the middle of March.

Rather than getting blistering drunk and wobbling around casinos and filthy scum toilet water in Vegas all week - I'm home working on essays and plotting out a new living scenario, eating pizza and laughing with the roommates and generally being lazy (that all changes tonight when I meet up with my basketball junkies). I have all this low-paying work to get done and its dull at times but never useless.

I miss Vegas but I'm finding the alternatives. Watching CSUN come close to beating those Memphis Pigs was great fun and I have the brackets and it's almost playoff NBA basketball time for us fantasy junkies. It's all good. Living vicariously through the photos and video streams coming in from sxsw, and got my car fixed.

All this and I found the W. LA courthouse made an error in January and notated me as having not shown up for a court date. My license was suspended, and if there's a hole in the system I'm usually sure to find it and I did again, and got caught driving on that suspended license.

Went to the court clerk yesterday, and after a 30 minute rumbling through dockets - my problems were corrected. Assholes. So I left the court - back to the DMV (oh... uhm, and by the way - Santa Monica DMV is the greatest DMV of all-time... more on that coming soon) and got my license all current again. Ahhh, fatnastic.

THEN - to make it all a whirlwind - this week I presented a 10-minute paper and ppt slide show to coincide with the madness, worked and got a JOB as paid writer... though that will be a longer story as well...

Now we have the next stacked up bills - sorry, I think I deleted the man from this next picture, but it how that money would look if you were to make that a stack of one TRILLION dollars. I am totally impressed now! Oh, wait, the little man IS there - he just happens to be dwarfed by all the pallets. One trillion. It's a number we're supposed to be getting used to by now.
